Valentine’s Wreath

Love is in the air with this Valentine’s Day Corn Husk Wreath!
I came across this on Martha Stewart’s website for a Thanksgiving day wreath. It was beautiful and I thought it was perfect for Valentine’s Day. It’s versatile and easy to make.
Supplies
- 25 large corn husks (for the foam size I used)
- RIT Dye in Wine color
- Wreath base – foam or straw (bought mine at Dollar General)
- Floral U-pins
- Paper towels
- Gloves
- Ribbon
Instructions
Dye corn husk according to directions. The longer the husk sits the darker the color will be. I let them sit overnight to get a deep pink color.
Remove corn husk from the dye. Place the husk on top of paper towels to absorb the excess water. Working quickly on a covered surface – peel the corn husk into sections. For large corn husk – separate the husk into 2 or 3 sections. Fold each section in half and secure to the wreath using upins.
I wanted the corn husk to look like ribbon so I left space in between the sections and fluffed them out. You can secure them closer together – it’s up to you how you want them to look. Once all the husk are attached go through and fill in any gaps, fluff them up and arrange them.
Let dry. You can use the ribbon to create a way to hang it or use a hook.
