First things first, make sure to condition the clay by kneading and stretching it. This step is crucial. It’ll make the clay easier to work with and ensure a smooth finish for your macaroons.

Once the clay is conditioned, roll out the white foam clay using a rolling pin. Secure the air-dry foam around the cone, gently wrapping it to create the base of your tree. Set it aside for now.

Now, it’s time to mold those delightful macaroons! Roll the clay into small balls and press them into the macaroon mold. Don’t forget to remove any excess foam by carefully cutting it off. Pop the macaroons out of the mold and make as many of each color as needed. Let your creativity shine as you mix and match colors to achieve the perfect combination.

Next, press each macaron onto the foam cone. The air-foam clay will adhere to itself, so just press firmly to secure it in place. Repeat this process for each layer of macaroons until you’ve reached the top of your tree. The more macaroons, the merrier! Now comes the hardest part – waiting! Let your macaron tree sit overnight, allowing the air-dry foam clay to dry completely. Patience is key here, as you don’t want to rush and risk damaging your masterpiece. Trust us, it’ll be worth the wait!

As I wanted a Valentine’s theme for this craft, I decided to use red and white air-dry foam clay for my macarons. To achieve a variety of shades, I added a little white to batches of red clay. This way, I was able to create a beautiful gradient effect that perfectly matches the Valentine’s Day theme. Once your macaron tree is fully dried, it’s time to display it proudly! I sat mine on a candle stick and placed it on the entrance table.
