Top-Your-Own Oatmeal Board! - Polk County Moms

Did you know that January is National Oatmeal Month? It’s a perfect family-friendly breakfast, because everyone can add their own mix-ins and toppings. You can even make it in the slow cooker overnight for an easy weekday breakfast. We love this version from The BakerMama. We asked Maegan about this beautiful board, her kids’ favorite toppings and her plans for 2022.

Why do you love this oatmeal board?

We each like to top our oatmeal a different way which is the beauty of this Top-Your-Own Oatmeal Board! It’s a great way to satisfy everyone with the variety of toppings to choose from and it gives everyone the opportunity to try toppings they might not have tried before.

What are your kids favorite oatmeal combos? And yours?

One of our kids love topping their oatmeal with peanut butter, banana and chocolate chips, while another goes with berries, nuts and honey. I love topping my oatmeal with walnuts, apples, raisins and a drizzle of honey. I also really enjoy oatmeal with peanut butter, bananas and berries. So many yummy and healthy options!

What was your favorite part of 2021?

My favorite part of 2021 was releasing my second cookbook, Spectacular Spreads! It’s been so special to get to share our family’s favorite recipes, meals and entertaining ideas through Spectacular Spreads. I’m also so proud and humbled that my Beautiful Boards books continues to be one of the best-selling cookbooks for the third year in a row. It brings me so much joy to see so many families out there enjoying the recipes, boards, spreads and fun food inspiration I regularly share.

What are your goals for 2022?

Continue to prioritize family while balancing my growing business! I have several big projects I’ll be working on throughout 2022 that I’m so excited to share and inspire others with. I’m really looking forward to creating and sharing more of what we regularly enjoy with our loved ones.
