I love Fall drinks but it gets expensive quickly. You can get the same great taste at home for very little money and in a few minutes. Brown Sugar Simple Syrup is my secret ingredient to delicious at-home coffee. The Brown Sugar Syrup has hints of caramel and gives a rich flavor to coffee. It’s a complete game changer and only takes about 5 minutes
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- In a saucepan add water and brown sugar. Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Stir occasionally. ***It only takes about 2 minutes for the sugar to dissolve. Avoid using boiling water to dissolve the sugar.
- Remove syrup heat.
- Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. You can do more- I like a strong flavor so I use 1 tablespoon.
- Cover syrup and allow to cool for about an hour.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 1 month in the fridge.
*** This is a 1-to-1 ratio syrup. You can change it to 2 cups water for every 1 cup sugar. That will give you a longer shelf life of 6 months. Store in the fridge!
