I’m Jackie but you may know me as Tired As A Mother. I’ve created my own brand and my own little community! I’ve been married to my husband Keith going on 7 years in January. We have 3 beautiful daughters. My oldest is 9 years old going on 16. My middle child is 6 (she just lost her 2nd tooth!) and my youngest is 4 but also going on 16. I was born in Libertyville, Illinois but I’ve spent most of my life here, in Winter Haven, FL.

How did your business come about?

I just remember switching positions at my last job and NOT being happy anymore. Everyone was always telling me how talented I was, that I should be doing this or I should be doing that but I always just brushed it off. You know, you’re supposed to work at a job for the rest of your life, have awesome savings set up blah blah all that “stuff.” Then Covid happened.. and I was scared because I have 3 daughters and two of them were ALWAYS sick. I wanted to be able to protect them and keep them home and safe if I needed to. My mom gave me an old cameo silhouette she had sitting around, and I finally took the time to learn how to use it. Then people were actually interested in what I was making and wanted to purchase items from me. It sort of just happened.

What are your biggest challenges?
My biggest challenge is time. A lot of the custom work I do takes TIME and that’s hard when you have 3 kids, a Lab, and a husband it can be very draining to say the least.

What has been your biggest success?
My biggest success is the community I’ve built. I literally started from 0 to a group of over 2,000 amazing supportive ladies who I’ve built a connection within less than a year. I cherish each and every one of their friendships. They are a huge part of my success!

What are your goals?

I absolutely love helping others and networking. Recently I started hosting tie-dye workshops that can help others who are considering opening up a T-shirt business themselves, or just a fun night out with friends. Each person goes home with their OWN one of a kind tie-dye T-shirt. I do a different theme every time, and it’s been so much fun each time. I’ve also recently started hosting local pop-up events with other small businesses, and they’re also so much fun! I love being able to use the community I’ve built, to help other small businesses start their journey, too. I guess you could say my goals are to keep GROWING!

What do you love about living in Polk County? What do you dislike?

I love our community, and how little our town is. It’s where I’ve spent most of my life, it’s home. However, I wish we had some mountains and seasons!!

What is the best advice you have been given?
Heal yourself! You’re literally the only thing holding yourself back.

What is your must-have this holiday season?
Christmas pictures!! I’ve always wanted to dress up fancy and make the girls dress up and take family pictures. Getting the hubs to dress up will be a struggle, but It’s happening. This year!

What’s your favorite part of parenting? Least favorite?
My favorite part is watching them grow! It’s so bittersweet the older they get. I love watching them grow into their own little person. They’re so smart and each so different. My least favorite part is the ATTITUDE. Lord help me with 3 girls. Also all of the “dirty” clothes from all the outfits they HAD to try on. I wouldn’t trade it for anything though.

What is your “mom” uniform?
Depending on the day but an oversized T-shirt and some sweats are always a go-to! But lately, I’ve been enjoying getting dressed up and throwing on a cute skirt or dress here or there.

Advice to someone who wants to start a social media page and/or website?
Go ahead and start. It doesn’t have to be perfect all it has to be is authentic. Be yourself. Share what interest you, your sense of humor, things you love, or things you dislike. There are others who like the same things you do and you’ll find each other.
