Bambino Buddy Ball comes to Auburndale Youth Baseball | Polk County Moms

Bambino Buddy Ball Logo

Bambino Buddy-Ball is a division of Babe Ruth League, Inc. It was created with the belief that all kids, regardless of physical or mental abilities, “have the right to participate in the games of baseball and softball.” The players are between the ages of  5-19 and are either physically and/or mentally challenged. Players work with a “buddy” who helps swing a bat, round the bases, catch a ball, etc. There are no restrictions on the age of the “buddy”. The Bambino Buddy-Ball division is designed so that everyone has the opportunity to have fun.

Auburndale Youth Baseball kicked off their Bambino Buddy Ball Division earlier this month. Buddy Ball is played on a fully accessible field with smooth artificial turf (easy access and maneuverability for wheelchairs, walkers, etc…) and large dugouts. Registration is open all season long and there is no cost to register. Players 5 and older are welcomed as are any volunteers. All volunteers are required to take a class to learn prior to working with the kids. Buddy Ball takes place once a week on Saturday mornings at 8am on Welcome All Field (field 5). The season ends in late April.
