What Are Wawa Summer Fun Days at Bok Tower? - Polk County Moms

Wawa Summer Fun Days is a seasonal partnership between Wawa and Bok Tower Gardens, providing complimentary general admission on the last Thursday and Friday of each month from May through August. This initiative began in 2021 and has welcomed over 12,000 guests in previous years.

Each day, the gardens are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with last admission at 5:00 p.m.

Due to high demand, pre-registration is required for Wawa Summer Fun Days. Each registration allows entry for up to four guests. A small processing fee applies to confirm your registration: REGISTER HERE

Gardens

The historic landscape garden was created to offer various settings from quiet secluded resting spots to views of the surrounding areas to spots to admire the singing tower.

 

Children’s Playground

Hammock Hollow Children’s Garden incorporates cooling water features, vibrant plantings, a boardwalk, play areas with climbing features, a stage for little performers, and plenty of space to build, dig, create and explore.

Singing Tower

The Singing Tower is at the center of the gardens. It was built at the highest elevation site. There is a reflection pool to the south of the tower. The tower has a 60 bell carillon inside. A carillon is a percussion instrument that is played on a keyboard and has cast iron bells that play together. 

The tower also houses the largest carillon library in the world. The tower is not open to the public

Additional Things To Do

The Pine Ridge Nature Trail at Bok Tower Gardens is a 3/4 mile trail. The longleaf pine forest was once al over the Southeeastern United States. It is now in danger of disappearing. The forest is home to the Gopher Tortoise, the Florida Mouse and Gopher Frogs. 

Pinewood Estate is a 20-room Mediterranean-style mansion located on Bok Tower grounds. It as built in the 1930’s for Charles Austin Buck, a Bethlehem Steel vice president. The estate is currently closed for tours but may reopen soon. 

Blue Palmetto Cafe is open from 9 am to 5 pm.  Enjoy a great picnic at any spot in the Gardens.

The Shop at Bok  offers  souvenirs to remember your visit, books about Florida, carillon music recorded from the Singing Tower, and unique treasures for everyone.

  • Bring Essentials: Sunscreen, hats, and water bottles are recommended.

  • Explore Fully: Don’t miss the Hammock Hollow Children’s Garden and the Singing Tower carillon concerts.

  • Check the Weather: Florida summers can be hot; dress accordingly.
