Does your child have a school readiness voucher from the Early Learning Coalition of Polk County?
Do you live in Polk County, Florida and have an EBT SNAP card?
If you answered yes to either questions, you can snag a FREE membership to the Florida Children’s Museum, giving you free entry for a whole year from the day you fill out the form. Find the form HERE (scroll to the bottom of page)
Here are a few rules Polk Plays and the Florida Children’s Museum have to follow to keep the program going:
- Adults must show proof they live in Polk County when visiting the museum (like a photo ID or driver’s license) and proof of program eligibility (like the ELC School Readiness voucher or EBT SNAP Card). WIC cards don’t count, it has to be the EBT SNAP Card.
- No more than 10 members per household.
- Memberships must be linked to a physical address in Polk County (no P.O. Boxes).
The County might add more guidelines as the program grows, so keep an eye on your email for updates once you have your membership.

Here are some tips to make the most out of your trip! Help your child navigate new spaces, boost their vocabulary by using new words, and engage in meaningful conversations by talking with them, not just to them. Encourage clean-up after play, and remember that shared items can move between areas. Watch for cues to see if they want to play alone or with others, and respond to their questions with questions to spark their curiosity. Remember this is supposed to be FUN. Encourage them to explore the new space.
