We began chatting and discovered not only is Jackie local to Polk County but we live relatively close to each other. A meet-up is in the works but for now – learn a little more about Jackie.
Meet Jackie
Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Jackie – I’m originally from New England but moved to FL as a kid. I went to UCF in Orlando for event and hospitality management. I met my husband in Orlando, who is from Polk County, so we came back this way to settle down. I’m currently a SAHM to Reagan, who’s 6. I started my Instagram sharing parties, crafts, and home decor sometime in the quarantine days, but I’ve always loved doing those things.
How did your business come about?
I started blogging a million years ago but didn’t start telling anyone until 2020🤣 I started to let go of the uncertainty of putting myself out there and started sharing more on my Instagram during the pandemic. Since then, my little account has grown a lot as have I. It brings me a lot of joy to share the things I love with the people in my community.
What are your biggest challenges?
My biggest challenge is trying to fit in all the things I wanna do, within 24 hours of the day.
What has been your biggest success?
My biggest success was landing my first paid partnership in 2021.
What are your goals?
My goal is to grow my Instagram and blog and allow it to become my career.
What do you love about living in Polk County? What do you dislike?
I love that it’s a small-town feel, but over a huge amount of space. I love all the small businesses and mom-and-pop restaurants, stores, etc. my only dislike is that my town doesn’t have a Starbucks😂
What’s your favorite place to be in Polk County?
Lake Hollingsworth for the outdoor space, Scout and Tag for shopping, Black and Brew for coffee
What is the best advice you have been given?
Be yourself and good will come
What is your must-have this holiday season?
For every holiday- candles. I love the cozy vibes and the scents! I have to go to candles for each holiday.
What’s your favorite part of parenting? Least favorite?
Seeing the hard work pay off; watching your little one become their own, good person. My least favorite is arguing with my strong-willed child
What is your “mom” uniform?
Jeans (skinny jeans for life🤣) graphic tee and sneaks. Or in the summer, cutoffs and tank tops
