Meet Dr. Jackie Brunetti, of Evolved Science Naples! - Polk County Moms

Where are you originally from & how long have you lived in the area?
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and after marriage moved to Morristown, New Jersey where I raised my son and daughter. I moved to beautiful Naples a year ago last April and I love it here!

How many Children do you have?
I have two children and four grandchildren! My son, Jonathan is an Emergency Room Physician at Physicians Regional, lives in Naples and has 2 daughters, aged 4 and 1 ½. My daughter, Kristin, a Gynecologist practicing Infertility and Endocrinology, lives in Clarksville, TN and also has two daughters, aged 5 and 2 ½.

Are you involved in a business venture?
I am a physician and partner of Evolved Science Naples, a concierge medical practice. Our motto is: “We make well better.”

When did you decide you wanted to open your own concierge medical practice?
My very good friend and medical school classmate, Erika Schwartz, MD has been practicing bioidentical hormone balancing and wellness in NYC for 30 years, currently at Evolved Science, Madison Avenue, NYC. I had a particular interest in prevention and wellness and, for many years, she had urged me to join her practice in New York City. The timing, however, was not yet right. My post-medical school training is in Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. This gave me a bird’s eye view of disease of all kinds, as well as the results, both good as well as bad, of treatment. I became dissatisfied with the direction of the medical field and therapies that addressed symptoms and not the cause of disease and many times were instituted when the disease was already severe when success presented a greater challenge. We know that early diagnosis of any condition leads to better treatment outcomes, but I was always wondering, can we prevent disease. I embarked on a quest to answer this question in 2011 and in 2013, completed a Fellowship in Integrative Medicine with Andrew Weil at the University of Arizona and received my Boards in Integrative Medicine in 2015. Still practicing Radiology, I was able to apply my Integrative Medicine knowledge to the general aviation and commercial pilots I saw as a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner. Finally the opportunity to practice medicine in the way I and Erika believe came when I decided to leave my practice in New Jersey and relocated to Naples where we have opened our new office, Evolved Science Naples.

What makes Evolved Science different from other concierge medical practices?
The patient is our top priority from the moment they make contact with us. Using cutting-edge medical treatments including hormones, supplements, and peptides, combined with our longevity research, we create scientifically sound preventive care treatments for our patients. Based on our individualized care philosophy, each plan is tailored to the patient’s unique needs and lifestyle. One process we have is keeping healthy people healthy. We want to keep each and every patient in their best form. Often, when you are not feeling well more issues occur. Staying healthy and feeling great is our goal for all patients! Getting out and being active is very important to us and our patients. Especially when you live is a place as beautiful as Naples!

What do you recommend for patients looking to get started with ES Health?
Check out our website: www.eshealthnaples.com Or give us a call. We can do a consult in person. We can Zoom or just a phone conversation. Mostly, we recommend just getting started on the road to great healthy living!

If you could give one tip to fellow Mom entrepreneurs, what would it be?
Find something that you love, it will never be a job. I grew up in the 60’s, the women’s lib generation. The mantra was “You can have it all.” Was this true? We, of the 60’s generation certainly tried. I had a full-time job and raised two children. Although there were times that I could not be at all their school events, when I was home, my son and daughter had my undivided attention. They are now both successful physicians. I, myself, had a successful career, was the director of my department, served as president of the medical staff at my hospital, published in medical journals and lectured internationally. It can be done, but with lots of love and balance.

One thing people would be surprised to hear about you?
I have a pilot’s license and was on NASA’s astronaut selection list for 6 years – unfortunately I was not selected! I’ve raced my Porsche at Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania and this year got my open water and enriched air diver certifications. I love being active and enjoying each and every day! Evolved Science in NY lead me to that road and that is the road I want to take other individuals down.
