Centrally located in Ft. Blount Park, the main crossroads of Bartow, this centuries-old art form from the 16th century was created by Italian artists who paid tribute to the first work of the “Madonna” that was drawn on the sidewalks by Italian artists. A new generation of “street painters” who travel from city to city, and festival to festival, creating chalk artwork that hardly lasts longer than than the handful of days required to make them is alive and well all over the globe.
